Dickson Liquor the debut CD release by Deputy Chief Wardens (DCW) available now
Unashamedly low-fi with a naïve charm only a tender age allows, Dickson Liquor, is the new release from Canberra based Deputy Chief Wardens.
Ten songs about skate’n, young love, piss’n off the rough kids, and dreams of rock stardom, this album tells unpolished and honest tales of youth from the privileged suburban wasteland of the nation’s Capital.

Produced in Canberra at World of Cobras Studio B by Harry Heaney-Garzoli (DCW’s 18 year old songwriter) Dickson Liquor captures the essence of a new band at its most vital. Live favourites Nangs and Skate rat scum deliver all of the amp smash’n high energy we have come to expect of the bands live set. New songs Hurt it out and Babushka show DCW are no one trick pony. They can turn off the overdrive and tune up the guitars when they feel like it.

Since releasing their 1st EP DOPE in 2018 DCW have been compared to everyone form Eddy Current Suppression Ring, the Dune Rats, and Ruby Fields to Courtney Barnett, and even the Clash. Dickson Liquor proves Deputy Chief Wardens have what it takes to innocently borrow from all the usual places while sounding like no one else and deserving all your attention.

Indie teens with out of tune guitars and too much time on their hands telling unpolished, honest stories from the privileged suburban wasteland of the nations capital.

Chief Warden Harry Heaney-Garzoli is the bands prolific songwriter and DIY producer. Under the DCW banner he has recorded and released a stack of low fi, pop, punk classics since 2016.
When asked about the new release Harry said “It just felt like the right time for a CD release. Some people still own CD players don’t they?”

Live sets never fail to be electric. With a full band the DCW show is Loud, loose and loveable. DCW bring an energy that can't be ignored and a pile of songs that stay stuck in your head long after your ears stop ringing.
